I create Looking Glass and keep a collection here,
on The United States of Glass.
Now, let's get looking!
My process is an adventure! I paint on one side of glass and the picture is viewed from the other.
Everything is painted backwards
and viewed inside-out.
Another way of describing this:
foreground details are painted first
and the background comes last
(example, above).
If you've made it this far, I can tell you're not just a looker,
but also a reader. So, I'll share some bright stuff!
I mix light interference pigments between layers of paint to provide the viewer with a secret treat (that changes from day to night, with light).
The adventure lives on beyond backwards creation, as light changes these pictures and new details emerge.
